Robotics start-up secures US$10m funding
Hong Kong startup Agilis Robotics, a spin-off from The Hong Kong University, secured US$10 million (HK$78 million) through its A+ funding round.
It develops robotic instruments to optimize surgical efficiency, and plans to conduct trials in mainland hospitals, paving the way for NMPA and FDA approval and commercialization.
The surgical robotics startup made technological breakthroughs in developing highly miniaturized and flexible robotic instruments to offer surgeons exceptional dexterity even in the most challenging anatomies, according to the company.
Most of their managers, members and partners are from HKU and The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
The company is supported by the Hong Kong Government under Innovation and Technology Commission funding. Its goal is to develop minimally invasive robotic instruments with artificial intelligence technology to provide clinicians with early-stage cancer care.
