2026 Biomedical Pitch Competition finalist Byterna Therapeutics, a pioneering enterprise in circular mRNA immunotherapy, announced the completion of a pre-A financing round worth tens of millions of yuan.
This round of financing secured continued participation from existing investor Yifeng Capital (Yifeng Zhuohua Fund), and introduced Insilico Medicine — a generative AI-driven biopharmaceutical technology company — as a new strategic investor.
The funds raised will be primarily allocated to three key areas:
- Accelerating clinical trial applications (IND) for the world's first dual-target circular mRNA in vivo CAR-T therapy
- Advancing the development of an AI-personalized circular mRNA cancer vaccine pipeline
- Co-establishing a next-generation mRNA AI-Native R&D Engine with Insilico Medicine, enabling end-to-end intelligent capabilities from circular mRNA molecular design to clinical translation
Byterna Therapeutics was established in 2023, co-founded by former Associate Professor Zeng Xian from the School of Pharmacy at Fudan University and Dr. Zhao Hui. The company focuses on the development of next-generation RNA innovative drugs, striving to build a globally leading AI × circular RNA drug platform.
